Was Gwen Norman's mistress?

Looking at this nauseating situation through Straczyinki's jaded glasses, I decided to come up with this; was Gwen a regular bed partner for Norman? To do this, one has to assume all sorts of ghastly things.

First off, we have to look at Gwen's father, Captain George Stacy. We can assume he was on the take from Osborne, so not to interfere with the shady dealings of Oscorp or what ever it is called now. That lead to the lavish lifestyle the Stacys had in spite of Captain Stacy being a mere Police Captain of the NYPD.

Stacy could cover it up by the fact that he had well to do relatives in England. Stacy was also well connected, and knew a lot of high level muckety mucks quite well. From J. Jonah Jameson to the Osborne family. Quite a bit of political clout.

Norman, being a widower, probably noticed Gwen quite early. She was the cute little girl that George would have along from time to time. Then, as Gwen flowered toward womanhood, his interest changed. Once Gwen was "of age" he made his slick moves on her, and because Norman once even saved their lives when they were taken hostage Gwen looked upon him in a more favorable light. Taking the next step with a powerful man of prestige and money was the logical thing to do. Gwen would get expensive gifts, go to all the right parties, meet powerful people and celebrities, go to exotic places and locations, and all she had to do was sleep with the (multiple explicatives deleted) from time to time. To her, and many girls like her, no big deal! Life can be fun!

Being as how Gwen was still in her early twenties, she would still enjoy being with her friends, hanging out, and partying. She compartmentalized the life she led with Norman apart from her life with her running buddies and friends. There was no way she'd let the secret out that she was Norman's mistress. Only Harry Osborne would have known, and because he was a friend of Gwens and his father's son, he would not have told and upset the apple cart. Why make trouble? That may be the reason he offered to share his apartment with Pete. Guilt feelings over knowing his dad was using Gwen as a toy. Nobody seemed to notice that Gwen wore racier outfits that seemed to be out of character for her. But in fact they were very much in character for her secret life. Osborne didn't pick her because of her brains.

Captain Stacy, realizing his daughter was now the plaything of a rich billionaire (trillionaire?), tried to find an out for her. He encouraged her crush on Peter Parker. The boy was good and decent, and perhaps he could save Gwen from the life of sexual adventurism she had chosen. Captain Stacy got buried under a pile of bricks (convenient, no?) before he could complete his plan.

Gwen was now alone, and her guilt feelings about two timing Parker for Norman would often drive her to tears over her predicament. She loved Peter, yes, but Norman was just too charming and powerful for her to give that up right now. (Besides, there was always the off chance Norman would actually MARRY her (fat chance) and everything would work out okay!(yeah, right!))

Norman was going nutso strango by the day, the Goblin formula eating up his brain. Then Gwen got pregnant. She went to Paris to protect her reputation and had Norman's kids. Having a sugar daddy's kids was nothing new for a mistress, but this was different. That was when she noticed something unusual about her kids, that they were growing way too fast. Gwen then returned from Norman's house in France and thats when she and Norman had the tiff. Norman wanted the kids, Gwen said no, that she'd run to Peter. That sealed the fate of his mistress.

When Mary Jane over-heard them arguing over the kids, Gwen lied to her, telling her that she'd just had a one timer with Osborne. M.J. never knew Gwen was a regular with Norman. It just didn't fit the good girl persona of Gwen Stacy. She could lie quite convincingly apparently.

Later that same day, in the Goblin suit, Norman tracked Gwen down to Pete's apartment, beat her up and raped her, taunting her all the time that he'd have the kids and she was about to die. That was when he took her to the bridge of death.
