Marx Accessories
These
are based, for the most part, on real world items. Quite a few of these
originated in the “Tom Corbett, Space Cadet” set, back in 1952!
Commander’s
Chair
Tom
Corbett
This
is 1/32nd scale, and apparently meant to be placed in front of the
control panel. It looks a bit like Captain Kirks chair on Star Trek.
Control Panel
Tom
Corbett
This
is 1/32 scale and also reminds me of the Star Trek Original Series bridge
control panel with Sulu and Checkov. On the moonbase floor it works well, even with 1/72-25mm figs.
Easel
Tom
Corbett
1/32
scale easel, common in class rooms in the 1950s.
Classroom
Bench
Tom
Corbett
1/32
scale The set comes with 4 of these, but only two
desks. As it also comes with a locker cabinet I use the other two for the
lockers. I would have hated to spend a day in class sitting on this backless
wonder.
Classroom Desk
Tom
Corbett
1/32
The amazing thing about this is that when you put the
bench in front of it, it forms a back for the bench. If you had a class room
full of these it would work as the back row could use the wall as a backrest.
Primitive, but it works.
Lockers
Tom
Corbett
1/32
This looks good on a moonbase,
as it resembles a pilots personal wall lockers. With the two benches on either
side it works well. Also good for 1/72-25mm scale figs.
Teacher’s Desk
and chair
Tom
Corbett
1/32nd scale. Tom Corbett was supposed to be a 15 yr old Space
Cadet. As such he would have gone to class a lot. This is why there is a teachers desk in the mix. It works
well enough as a desk for a ready room briefing or orders of the day for a moonbase. Chair not shown.
